Article: - Growth with
profit is a must.
This article
talks about a near –death experience can change anyone. It shows that how in tough
times Kishor Biyani faced the problems and managed to get new business models.
·
He
is very confident about the new big bazaar direct and claims that it is going
to be profitable growth.
·
The
whole leadership style changes. Basically the leader destroys the old thoughts
to build new once.
·
As
a leader he had never seen uncertain times. It was the first time his company
saw uncertain time. How to analysis rights and wrong during the time of
uncertainty, is the true mark of a leader.
·
Mr.
Biyani still believes he is a student and always seeks to learn new ideas from
his people working in company.
·
He
tries to build team confident among the employees and takes quick decision
whenever required.

He
majorly focused on scenario planning for restructuring the organisation, people
and management and also to take decision according to scenario.
·
He
believes making mistake is nice, but the same mistake should not be repeated
and the mistakes which are been made should be corrected. He allows his employees
to commit new mistakes.
·
Reduce
the number of variable on which you work. Take decision based on 360 degree
view.
·
Whenever
there is a challenge or issue faced by the company, he thinks one should go to the
source and solve the issue from there.
·
The
biggest threat Mr.Biyani feels in retail industry is loss of job of the
customer which would lead to slowdown in purchasing power and secondly the
migration.
·
The
saving rate of people is dropping because people started consuming more and
save less which therefore increased in retail sector.
·
He
is a strong believer of outsourcing of goods. As he says I am not a retailer, I
am a brand creator for food products.
·
The
idea behind his Chinese food parks is how to bring down supply chain cost.
·
He
is a very good investor, which he has proved over the period of time. They
invested in ethnic wear in two companies when they were 10 percent of the size
they are today/
·
He
doesn’t look for growth, he looks for leadership style. He follows some leaders
such as Anil Agarwal for his perseverance, patients and focus. Mukesh Ambani
for his fearless attitude and believes in himself.
A great
leader is one who learns different leadership style from different leader and
uses it in his own way. Leader should always aspire for the best and focus on
company mission and vision. As employees play a major role in the company, one
should never ignore employee’s welfare activities and motivate them whenever
needed, as they are the one who represents the company to consumer.
